Quests, subplots, and other free-ranging things

Since this is going to be a sandbox game, this will be for discussing any elements that don't pertain directly to the "plot"

I love these ideas. IG and myself were saying that we'd like life sim elements as well. This will need more stats but that shouldn't be a problem I think.

I have some ideas for civilian stats:

  • Cooking Skill
  • Housework Skill
  • Hygeine
  • Building Skill
  • Charisma
  • Manners
  • Intelligence
  • Kindness
  • Farming Skill
  • Money Skill
  • Energy
  • Sport Skill
  • Creativity
  • Raw Materials Gathering Skill
  • Refining Skill
  • Determination
  • Mental Health
  • Physical Health
  • Muscle

A good way of adding replay value would be random quests popping up like there'd be a quest to take this from here to there and it could be from any place to any other place and could pop up at any time.

I like these too. I also kind of kicked around the idea of there being dating sim elements too

Dating sim? That might get awkward but it could be fun too.

Yeah, and it might also clash with the elements of the "plot", hence why I haven't given it too much consideration. It's still an idea, though.

Ooh, and maybe there could be different "modes" for the game, like a story mode and a free-play mode, which can be unlocked after completing the story. Free-play mode will have the above-listed sandbox elements and more, such as maybe maintaining a town and picking which kind of character you want to be, etc

Yes story mode, thats what they did in sims 3.There is two modes story mode, and free play mode. Also maybe they can be abel in a certain mode to play as our characters.

Hmm, maybe when you complete the plot you continue with the world as it was when the plot concluded but then you're in sandbox mode.

I've had this idea that while others work on the plot I'll work on the sandbox mode.
